This is not a smile on my face
Okay, I'm trying to respond to all the very nice comments on my snarry_games story and every single frigging time I make a comment it boots me to this database unvailable message. I have to go back into the system, and, yes, my comment appears, but this is not on!. I can't just leap frog answering comment to comment. Am I the only one experiencing this glitch and annoyance? Certainly does not encourage me to move over here with this sort of fundamental software glitch.

	It seems that many of us are having similar problems. In all honesty, ij has some technical problems from time to time but squeaky does all he can to keep growing his site and trying to keep everyone up to date when there are problems. As far as I know his last post on the site work was yesterday. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	And he keeps updating it with Edits too. I think it's now a site wide malfunction. I have about 13 IJ accounts and they're all having the same problems. I'm just waiting for squeaky to say what's going on today. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	yeah, I've got the same thing going on here. shrug I've got so little time to reply to comments, but then again, I don't have a lot of comments to reply to. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon. (Reply to this)

You aren't the only one, but it's not a fundamental software glitch. Squeaky moved the entire system to new servers this weekend. Of course there have been some glitches, but they don't sound permanent -- he's working his ass off to get them fixed ASAP. The good news is that the new servers are more robust and will be able to handle the kind of growth that IJ's been seeing.

I know it's frustrating, but maybe just wait on answering comments for a day or two if you can, and the problem will be fixed by then? I'm sure people will understand why your reply isn't immediate (esp. since some aren't getting comment notifications).

I'm glad Squeaky's in charge instead of me. I'd probably be throwing my hands up in the air by now and crawling under a blanket hoping everything would just fix itself. Fortunately I think he's a different sort. The old system's been straining for good reason -- when I joined a year ago there were 30K accounts, and now there are 215K, and probably at least half of those have brought over years of back entries from LJ (I know I did). I'm not trying to sound Pollyanna-ish about the whole thing, it is terribly frustrating. Just ... please don't give up on IJ yet!
